Who We Are at Rolly Marine Service, Inc.
Rolly Marine is now a second and third generation legacy shipyard, founded by the late Roland “Rolly” Rocks and his wife, the late JoAn Rocks.
Mr. Rocks’ interest in boats began as a child in Benton Harbor, MI, where he developed a knack for building and repairing boat engines.
After relocating to Florida and working in his family’s ironworks business, Pompano Iron Shop, Roland became a mechanic in a local boatyard, quickly earning a reputation repairing and building high-performance engines.
Additionally, Rolly built and raced an SK series boat, and worked and fished major fishing tournaments from the Bahamas to Nova Scotia.
In 1965, Mr. Rocks and his partner, Michael Hyman, formed their own company which is now known as Rolly Marine Service. Now an internationally renowned refit center and full-service shipyard for Mega yachts, center consoles and competitive sport fishing vessels, Rolly Marine still specializes in complete yacht refits, custom fabrication, marine systems, and project management. Our experienced team of skilled craftsmen, technicians, and project managers delivers high-quality solutions for vessels throughout Fort Lauderdale's Marina Mile.
